What Talon for Mac keeps local and what the Talon website processes.
The native Mac app
Bookmarks, folders, labels, notes, highlights, chats, AI usage records, and search indexes stay in the local Talon SQLite database. X and AI credentials are stored in macOS Keychain. The app connects directly to X and the AI provider you choose.
X authorization callback
With the native callback configured, X redirects directly to the registered talon://oauth/x URL on your Mac and the Talon website is not involved in that authorization flow.
Website analytics and payment data
The public website uses privacy-filtered PostHog analytics and a pseudonymous first-party visitor identifier to understand page and purchase-funnel usage. Stripe processes checkout, payment, receipt, and refund data. Talon stores the purchase identifiers, purchase email, amount, currency, status, and download history required to deliver and recover a license.
Support and email
Messages sent to support@talon.im and license-recovery email delivery are processed only to answer the request, deliver the product, prevent abuse, and keep legally required business records.
Your choices
You can use local search and organization without AI, remove provider credentials, export the library, and delete all local Talon data from the app. Contact support@talon.im for website or purchase-data questions.
